I really like my name Silke, because it's unique and not many has the same name as me. Though it isn't my first name I have always gone by my middle name Silke. Mostly because my parents think it suits me better, I'm a bit crazy a unique you could say. BTW, the name Silke is a good name for a little baby girl, if you want to name her something not many others do.

It's cool that it's so unique but in the US I always get the "Silky-smooth" comments... and every is disappointed that it doesn't actually mean "silk" in it's origin - There are two theories about the origin/meaning of the name - 1)the blind one 2) heavenly (that's in regards to the root name Celia
