I always liked the spelling of my name and how i wrote it but i would of been happier with a different name when i was younger but now i am okay with it.

Wasn't that fond of it as a child. Then, I identified with Shirley Temple and Shirley MacLaine. Now, I love my name. It's different to most, unique, not very prevalent anymore, but not weird, like some ''invented'' names today, whether birthnames, or nicknames, or purely invented for some other reason.

I didn't like my name growing up but my mom named me Shirley after her favorite cousin. Now I prefer "Shirl". I like the uniqueness of my name.
